Aston University - EBRI project

Location: Birmingham 2013

Treatment: Floor protection with Vetrofluid and Ercole

Description: The brand new EBRI (European Bio-energy Research Institute) building at Aston University, one of the most innovative bio-energy plants in the UK. The unique technology converts multiple waste feed stocks into a cost effective heat, power and other marketable products. We worked closely with the design team as they required a "environmentally friendly" floor that could withstand the various oils, acids and water that the plant would produce over its life time. Having looked at all the options we first protected the original floor with Vetrofluid to stop water and damp ingress and then overlaid with Ercole at only 3mm thick.
