Commissioned by Veneto Strade and built by Impresa Monti SpA, the bridge over the Rudavoi torrent sits in the Dolomites near the Tre Croci pass. Its 180-metre deck follows a sinuous curve, chosen to soften the visual weight of the structure in a sensitive mountain landscape.
At this altitude, freeze-thaw is the dominant threat to a concrete deck. Monti SpA, a long-standing Ecobeton partner on bridge and underpass waterproofing, specified Evercrete Vetrofluid for the deck slab. Penetrating around 40 mm into the concrete, Vetrofluid vitrifies within the pore structure - waterproofing from the inside while consolidating the surface. Because nothing sits on top of the concrete, there is no membrane to crack or delaminate through winter cycles.
