San Benedetto is one of Europe's largest producers of mineral water and soft drinks. Its new plant at Padernello di Paese, near Treviso, was an ambitious, technologically advanced facility - and its concrete floors would have to cope with spillages of acidic product, constant cleaning and forklift traffic.
Ecobeton's Evercrete Pavishield was applied to the floors while still fresh, serving as an anti-evaporation curing treatment and leaving a permanently consolidated, dust-free and acid-resistant surface. One product, one application, three functions.

Project facts
- Location: Padernello di Paese (TV), Italy (2006)
- Designer: Eng. Giuseppe Zago (project coordinator)
- Contractor: Setten Genesio SpA (TV)
- Ecobeton solution: Evercrete Pavishield on fresh floors as curing, anti-dust and anti-acid treatment
What this means for UK projects
Food and beverage plants in the UK need hygienic, dust-free floors that shrug off acidic spills. Treating the slab at pour stage avoids a separate coating that would need periodic renewal. See Evercrete Pavishield.
