Turin 2006 Olympic Bobsleigh Track: Vetrofluid Against Frost

Cesana / San Sicario, 2004 - continuing a line that began at Calgary 1988 and Lillehammer 1994

Building a bobsleigh track for a Winter Olympics is among the most demanding jobs in sports construction: a continuous, precisely profiled concrete channel that must survive being iced, thawed and re-iced through every season, at altitude. The Cesana-San Sicario track for Turin 2006 was designed by Planungsburo Deyle and built by Orion Scarl.

Ecobeton had already protected the Olympic tracks at Calgary (1988) and Lillehammer (1994). At Cesana, Evercrete Vetrofluid was applied to the track as a curing treatment and as permanent protection against frost attack - the same product, spray-applied, doing both jobs.
